Background:
From one of the most famous growing regions of Colombia, Huila Coffee is grown in rich soils in the central range of mountains (Cordillera Central). Huila coffee grows in rich volcanic soils and perfect coffee microclimate at 1500 to 1900 metres above sea level. This coffee from the Huila state in the south centre region of Colombia is without doubt one of the finest beans you can enjoy. Volcanic soils, fresh clean streams and rivers, plenty of shade and the loving care of Colombian growers, are the main reasons that such superb beans are produced. Supremo is the highest grade of Colombia coffee based on fewest physical imperfections and largest bean size.
Taste notes:
Huila coffee is very smooth with reasonably low acidity. When roasted medium it has soft fruit tones with a nutty chocolaty flavour. Berries, caramel, toffee with residual sweetness. Rich and intense, medium and creamy. Darker roasts will eliminate the sweeter tones and accentuate flavours of dark chocolate. The cup has well balanced acidity and delicate body. Smooth and very easy to drink cup but a bit mild for some.
Roasting notes:
We roast the Colombia Huila at a medium level to fully develop the great cupping characteristics of this coffee. This way we achieve a perfectly balanced cup, exuberant aroma, and fragrance with a very satisfying aftertaste.
