Background:
Riverdale Estate is a Family-owned business where three generations have worked with quality coffee plants since 1920. The farm is situated in The Eastern Ghat Mountains. The loam soil in these mountain ranges has a perfect mixture of clay, silt, and sand to grow coffee. These coffee beans are washed using clean spring water, whereby the pulp and mucilage is removed. The beans are soaked and washed again for consistency and uniformity. They are then dried on raised beds for 25 -30 days. After this the beans are removed and slow dried until the desired moisture content is achieved.
Tasting Notes:
Nutmeg, dark chocolate, nougat. Roasted hazelnut, chestnut, biscuity, with a creamy body. The beans produced are characterised by their uniform size and boldness. When brewed, they yield a syrupy body, medium acidity, and delightful combination of hazelnut and soft spice flavours.
Roasting Notes:
We roast this bean at a medium level. Yercaud coffee beans are great for blending and delicious to drink as a single origin. A medium roast is preferred and delivers a milder sweeter cup. Has hints of soft fruit notes at the light / medium roasts points and a bit sweeter edge to it.
